Project Overview

SendIt is a smart logistics and transportation platform that connects customers, drivers, fleet owners, businesses and administrators in one system.

Users can book instant deliveries, reserve a full vehicle, book available truck space or receive price offers from drivers. The platform also supports fleet management, live tracking, and online payments.

SendIt helps customers find suitable transport more easily. Drivers and fleet owners can make better use of empty vehicle space. Businesses can manage regular shipments, while administrators can oversee the entire platform from one place.

What We Built

We built a mobile logistics platform for customers, drivers, fleet owners, businesses and administrators. We developed the React Native frontend, Node.js and Express.js backend, REST APIs and MySQL database. The platform includes booking, PTL, shipment bidding, fleet management, live tracking, payments, notifications and admin tools.

Client Background

Michael Carter works in the logistics and transportation industry. He wanted a platform that could bring different transport services together for individuals, drivers, fleet owners and businesses. His main requirement was to offer more booking options while helping drivers and fleet owners make better use of available vehicle capacity through regular deliveries, shipment bidding and PTL routes.

Business Challenge

Logistics services were spread across different platforms. Customers needed separate systems for delivery, truck booking, shared cargo and business shipments.

  1. 01Drivers often had unused vehicle space or no load for return trips, which affected their earnings. Fleet owners also found it difficult to track drivers, vehicles and trips.
  2. 02Customers needed better pricing options and a simple way to compare private driver offers. Businesses needed tools for bulk bookings, scheduled pickups, invoices and shipment reports.
  3. 03The main challenge was to bring all these needs into one simple platform.

Our Solution

We developed SendIt as one platform for managing different logistics services.

  • Customers can book instant delivery, a full vehicle or shared cargo space. They can also compare private offers from drivers.
  • Drivers can accept deliveries, add PTL routes and make better use of available vehicle space. Fleet owners can track drivers, vehicles and active trips in one place.
  • Google Maps supports routes, navigation and live tracking. Each booking includes payment, status updates and notifications.
  • Businesses can handle bulk bookings, scheduled pickups, invoices and shipment records. Administrators can oversee users, bookings, payments and platform activity.

Development Process

The project started with a detailed review of the main logistics requirements. We studied delivery bookings, PTL shipments, shipment bidding, fleet operations, business logistics and admin controls. Based on these requirements, we planned the complete workflow from registration to delivery completion.

Technical Challenges and Solutions

01

Managing different logistics services

Separate flows were created for delivery, full vehicle booking, PTL and bidding.

02

Matching shipments with drivers

Route, vehicle type, availability and capacity were checked.

03

Managing PTL capacity

Available cargo space was updated after each booking.

04

Protecting private bids

Drivers could submit offers without seeing other bids.

05

Preventing booking conflicts

Vehicle availability and active trips were checked before assignment.

06

Tracking deliveries

Google Maps API supported routes and live trip updates.

07

Managing payments

Payment status and transaction records were handled securely.

08

Managing user access

Separate permissions were added for each user type.

Logistics Operations Improvements

  1. 01

Users depended on different transport services and manual vehicle searches.

Customers can access multiple logistics services and book suitable vehicles through one platform.

  2. 02

Drivers often travelled with unused cargo space, while customers had limited pricing options.

PTL routes help use available vehicle space, while private bidding allows customers to compare driver offers.

  3. 03

Delivery updates were difficult to track.

Map-based tracking provides clear trip visibility.

  4. 04

Vehicles, drivers, trips and earnings were managed through separate records.

Fleet owners can monitor complete fleet activity from one place.

  5. 05

    Business bookings required manual communication.

Businesses can manage scheduled and bulk shipments digitally.

  6. 06

Payments, refunds and invoices were handled separately.

Financial records are linked with each booking.

  7. 07

Administrators had limited visibility across platform operations.

A central dashboard supports user, booking, payment and activity management.

Results

For Customers

  1. 01Customers can choose suitable delivery options, compare driver offers, make payments and track shipments through a single app.

For Administrators

  1. 01Administrators can manage users, bookings, payments, vehicles, verification and platform activity through one dashboard.
